Show continues to be holding my interest. Plan to let my daughter whose been teaching 2nd graders in the states for 3 years know about the show. Also 1 very special person living in Tokyo who used to be a teacher there!

[..YouTube..] I like the idea of showing what the life of a teacher is like in Japan. I have watched plenty of youtube videos showing the challenges of working, and living in Japan. It is a great idea to make a series out of it. Thumbs up.

[..YouTube..] Very disappointing third episode.
The production is still good but the storyline has become banal (with non-sequiturs and plot holes appearing from nowhere) and the acting from some characters is so bad it’s distracting to the extreme.
Plus, we’re now seeing adverts popping up during the episode and not just at the beginning and end. Very annoying!
A shame. The first two episodes showed promise but this one really does dip.

I kinda agree that the acting isn’t super great… but then I’m sure it will get better as everyone gets more experienced.

[..YouTube..] I’m enjoying the series so far. There is definitely enough content to expand this out into a 24 minutes show. With a 5-6 minute run, it really only leaves enough time for plot and a small amount of scenes intended for humor.
Like a few others said though, there are times when shows quality is kind of apparent, but you guys are doing great working with what you have so far. The show can only get better after all, there’s no such thing as perfect from the get go. I look forward to more.

The start is so close to Modern Family you’d better hope their lawyers don’t see it.
Or is it Arrested Development I’m thinking about…..
Anyway this is clearly highly influenced by those two shows.
Unfortunately the writing here is extremely poor. Its almost embarrassing to watch the whole way through.
I guess if your target demographic is confined to “English Teachers in Japan” then its OK . But if not find some new writers.

It’s all over. I’m giving up. That was horrible. I didn’t think it could get worse, but it did. AND how low has it sunk. terrible acting, poor camera work, no jokes – not even bad ones and a really cheesy ending.
Please stop producing and rewrite until you got something good.

[..YouTube..] It really IS similar to Modern Family and also The Office, and in my opinion, that’s why it’s relevant and fun…I love the way it flows, so funny! Neville is very insightful and Ashley reminds me of Angela from the Office.
Love the series – Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next!

The one thing this series is missing is the owner of the school, the real boss man who comes rarely but makes everyone tremble, who wears an impeccable suit and claims his mission “is to bring English to the Japanese people,” but can’t speak a word of English himself and makes the manager woman translate. We had one that was pure Yakuza. I mean, he was missing a pinkie!

[..YouTube..] this is EXTREMELY well produced (editing, sound, lighting, etc.) And I love the premise (spot on as i am a teacher in korea). But if you want any constructive criticism, the writing is lacking here. The ‘life lessons’ and ‘philosophy tidbits’ the narrator provides feel very forced, and are severely wanting in originality. and the Zen Guru character just seems really unrelated to the rest of the show, just a lazy insertion of comic relief. I will keep watching though.

[..YouTube..] though i must note that the sound has a small issue…that it dips into moments of complete/utter silence when there should be some kind of sound there, the stark silence sounds very unnatural and is very noticable. it is especially obvious in the opening monologue where the girl is making the faces.

Walking the hallways with his backpack on him, thinking with a narators voice and telling people the meaning of what’s going on and the lesson you should learn… This series really takes up the idea of a scrubs sitcom…
